With the exponential increase in usage of Microsoft Teams it is becoming a more targeted platform to spread phishing campaigns and malware to unsuspecting users. The current lack of tooling to protect and respond to such incidents within the Teams environment creates an attack surface prime for exploitation. BRUCE-TDR is designed to combat this issue by providing the ability to search and remove for a malicious message being spread through Teams, similar to email security software that is designed to mitigate any malicious email campaign.
Pictured below is a real world example of a compromised Teams account that is being used to spread a malicious attachment to an unsuspecting user while attempting some social engineering to get the user to interact with the attachment and infect themselves with malware or disclose sensitive information.

The video below demonstrates Bruce-TDR’s ability to respond to an attempt such as this and remediate the message to no longer be an active threat within the environment.
